One tip is to keep the temperature one degree lower than you would normally set it at. It might mean an extra jumper in the depths of the winter, but saves heat and money, although this is not to be recommended for sick or elderly people who need to ensure that the temperature is high enough.

Switch off appliances when you are not using them, as even standby mode consumes electricity. A modern home is made up of so many household and entertainment appliances that this can really make a difference.

Lastly, try to switch to a programme that many electricity companies offer which offers cheaper rates for using electricity at certain times of the day or night.
